Style: Electronic / Ambient / Trip-Hop / Soundtrack
BEN JAMIN is the name of the electronic music project by Hamburg-based musician and producer Benny Braun, who had explored miscellaneous soundscapes in his varied musical career. In the mid 1990ies he started his first electronic productions, affected by Techno, Experimental, Trip-Hop and Ambient. As his alter ego BEN JAMIN he released two strikingly independent 12´ maxi-singles on presently well-known techno-label KANZLERAMT by Heiko Laux. Three years later the album “Weltenretter” came out: Strongly shaped by Downtempo and Trip-Hop, dark textures meet piercing sequences complemented by reduced but intensive lyrics - performed by studio guests from different backgrounds and languages. Benny Braun´s subsequent works in the field of music production for films led to further development of the project. With his current tracks – the first after a longer lasting time out – BEN JAMIN expands his repertoire towards atmospheric and sometimes score-like arrangements. Free floating between mutiple electronic genres remains characteristic for BEN JAMIN - whilst always keeping a recognizable musical signature.
